The History of T.W. Birks & Son

The Family firm of T. W. Birks was established in 1929 by Thomas Wilfred Birks and was founded as a Joinery and Undertaking business.

In the early years the firm sometimes only carried out one funeral a month. In 1954 a dedicated Chapel of Rest was constructed and, over the years, the premises have been expanded and improved by Wilfred’s son Thomas Geoffrey Birks.

Today our fleet of modern hearses and limousines compliment our professional services to the community.

The Grandchildren of the founder – Thomas Neil Birks, Alistair, Ian and Fiona today carry on the family tradition of caring passionately about others in the community and taking care of their loved ones after death.
